Our Mission:

In addition to supporting the New Jersey Psychological Association (NJPA) mission, the mission of the Foundation is promoting the psychological health of the diverse people of New Jersey.

The NJPA Foundation administers and raises money to deliver psychological services to underserved populations by supporting training programs for psychology graduate students, as clinicians and researchers, with an emphasis on treating underserved populations.  The NJPA Foundation supports the mission of NJPA, especially in its commitment to diversity and public mental health.

Organization Structure

The New Jersey Psychological Association Foundation was established in 1993 as a charitable, tax-exempt organization. The NJPA Foundation is an IRC 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation and all donations, less any goods and services received, are tax deductible.

Meet the Foundation Board

The NJPA Foundation Welcomes Dr. Alyssa Austern to the Board of Trustees

"As an early career professional, I am not far removed from being a poor graduate student completing predoctoral externships and internships, impatient for the day when I would finally be a licensed psychologist.  Although being a trainee was often financially stressful, there were generous offers of financial support that helped me complete my education.  While my training experiences were undoubtedly challenging, they were also highly rewarding because they afforded me the opportunity to work with underserved populations.

When I learned of the NJPA Foundation and its commitment to raising money to help support programs, especially externships and internships, I was immediately interested in becoming involved.  The NJPA Foundation helps promote the psychological health of typically underserved populations, and is committed to supporting current research that is being conducted by graduate students who wish to serve these populations.

As a current trustee on the Foundation Board, I would encourage New Jersey psychologists to consider donating to the Foundation. Know that your generosity will directly and significantly assist both graduate students and the populations they serve." -- NJPA Foundation Board Trustee, Alyssa Austern, PsyD
